In an effort to preserve the history of the federal point region, the Cape Fear Camera Club is assisting Federal Point Historic Preservation Society with its Digital Image Project.

The Federal Point Historic Preservation Society, which works to preserve the history of the area from Monkey Junction to Fort Fisher, created this project two years ago. The primary goal is to archive local pictures of families, businesses and landscapes for people to look back on.

The club is currently taking pictures for the project and will continue to do so for one year.

The digital pictures taken by the camera club will be displayed in an exhibit in the spring of 2014.

Pictures donated will be archived and possibly used for future exhibits.

The donated pictures are scanned and given back to the owners.
